Miracle

frightened as a fawn
I stayed
trapped in pedestrian hopes of Love

hands fastened around my neck, I felt it
a fullness,  sly parting
just enough for a hymn to slip in
claim my starving heart

beating for her supper
his words in my ear, zephyr-faith
and he isn't even there yet
such things I have heard of
